While festivals in India are celebrated with a lot of devotion, festive dressing has its own charm and adds to the excitement factor. A fashion enthusiast and a lover of Indian ethnic wear, our very own CPO - Janani SriGuha, has her own personal preferences when it comes to festive dressing and jewellery. Here is getting upclose with our Festivya enthusiast, getting to know more about what festive jewellery means for her and how the brand is gearing up for the festive season.
Being a jewellery lover herself, this is what she has to say about her taste for festive jewellery she loves to wear.
"My style is generally classic and subtle. I prefer understated pieces, but have started experimenting more with statement jewellery over the past year. I love the beauty and the earthy feel of terracotta jewellery, and the elegance of beaded necklaces. My favourite necklace for pairing with silk saris is a Dokra Necklace which perfectly compliments a beautiful sari without taking anything away from it."
The defining trends that marked the festive purchase of accessories from Festivya?
"This year there has been a huge demand this year for german silver jewellery, as well as necklaces, bracelets, and earrings with tassels, and pom poms. Another trend that we noticed was increase in demand for nose pins and finger rings."
Compared to the first year Diwali at Festivya, what are the things that changed this year?
"In the last year we have grown a lot and made great strides. We have 4 times the number of designers as we had last year at this time, giving customers a wide variety of choices - there's something for everyone - ethnic, contemporary, statement, subtle - we have over 1000 products, with new ones added each week. We are proud to be able to support so many small entrepreneurs, and provide them a platform to grown their business!
This festival season we have also partnered with NanhiKali, to support the education of underprivileged girls. We are donating 1% of all sales, as well as accepting individual donations to the foundation."
Post-Diwali, Festivya is gearing up to cater to the audiences looking for wedding jewellery. What is new that the audiences can look forward to?
"Silk thread is always a big hit for the wedding season, especially in south India, as it goes very well with the traditional silk saris. In the north, German Silver jewellery and statement jewellery is more popular. Festivya offers customization on a huge range of jewellery, which is also a big hit as everyone can get jewellery to perfectly match their saris or dresses!"
With the above trends, it is for sure that fashion jewellery market has just about started flourishing in India. With the product offerings that are unique and handmade, Festivya certainly has become a favourite among jewellery lovers and the fashion addicts. On this positive note, here we are wishing you all a very happy Diwali! May the bling of this festive season continue to brighten up your lives.
